Hardware/Software

On the hardware side of things I used the following in my install:

  • VIA V800 Mini-ITX system (Supplied by Thunderbird Computing)
    • 192MB SD RAM
    • 17GB Seagate HDD (3.5 inch)
    • 200W ATX PSU
    • D-link DWL-G520+ PCI WiFi Card (802.11g)
  • Lilliput 7" Touchscreen
  • D-link (Gemtek) DU-R100 USB FM Radio
  • Digitor 300W Inverter (M5111)
  • Alpine V-power 250W Max Amplifier (MRP-T220)
  • Alpine 6.5" Splits (SCS-1756)
  • 4 Port USB2 Hub
  • 4 Serial Port Buttions (for use with WinAmp Comport Control)
  • 2 VGA Extention Cables
  • 1 USB Extention

On the software side of things:

  • Windows 2000
  • MediaCar (with the WinAmp Comport Control plugin installed)
  • Media Engine (Currently in use atm, supports radio nicely)
My car is a 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Hatch for those who are interested :-)
